New Destinies
My name is Ciurlita Stanescu and I come from a Roma family.
I was abandoned when I was little and I lived without parents, in orphanages and special schools.
I was raised in the company of those without parents, learning that life is a jungle, in which one has to use any kind of means in order to survive.
With this philosophy of life at the age of 18, after finishing the special school, I found myself in the street.
I was sleeping in the parks and trainstations, living of begging and fraud.
The thought that winter and the snow was coming brought me to the brink of despair.

I was telling myself that this is my destiny and I can't do anything.
One day someone found me and told me that there really is hope in God. I was told about the Farm of Hope .
The great surprise was when I found an island on which I could stop, to have a new start in life.
I stayed for 4 years in this foundation, meanwhile I was taught to read and write, to work in agriculture (plants and animals) and to relate to people. I heard about God's love, by the Holy Bible, and I understood that I can have a new destiny.
I was permanently taught and encouraged and I found a job in legal terms.
Nowadays I have been an employee for 4 years at S.C. CITADIN S. A. Iasi, where I repair and take care of the streets of the city. With every street repaired, I remember that I was also repaired and taken care of, and now I feel respected and fulfilled.
I live at a host, where I cook for myself and the food is paid with my own money. I thank God, because I can say now that I have a new destiny.
I remained friend with those from the leadership of the foundation, whom I still meet and I receive advices from, desiring to be a good example also for the young men who are spending a period of time in the foundation. Your friend, Ciurlita Stanescu.
